When I think of Spring, the first thing I think about is the smell of freshly cut grass in the evening time and the second thing being 'I need a new perfume'. With the start of a new season, it's nice to welcome it with a new scent that will take you right through to Summer. It's time to ditch those heavy, rich, indulgent perfume smells for something a little more light and fresh. All the major high end brands like to release their new eau de parfums and eau de toilettes at this time of year - so here are my Top Perfume Picks if you want to smell fabulous this Spring/Summer.
Viktor and Rolf are back with their latest addition - Bonbon. After the huge success of their Flowerbomb for women, I think it's safe to say the release of Bonbon has been highly anticipated. It has been described as the 'younger sibling' of Flowerbomb and with the bottle alone taking over a year to design, it's no wonder perfume lovers all across the globe are just dying to get their hands on it. The fragrance itself is described as having notes of caramel and peach with a hint of sandalwood and the brands infamous floral scent all entwined into the gorgeous bow-shaped bottle. Released exclusively at Brown Thomas in Ireland and at Selfridges in the UK will you be stopping by to have a sniff?
Balenciaga, not often a brand that I would be familiar with when it comes to perfumes. Rosabotanica is their newest fragrance release for Spring 2014 having some similarities in both the bottle's design and name to that of their famous Florabotanica. If you liked Florabotanica, then chances are you will like this. With it's key notes being rose, fig leaves and white wood; why wouldn't you want to smell like this? A scent which can only be described as spicy, beautiful and dangerous - I got the chance to give this a try on a recent trip to Debenhams and without a doubt, it deserves a place in my top Spring scents. You can purchase this in store now or online here.
Dolce and Gabbana are known for their delicate, feminine scents and their latest addition Dolce - is no different. Encased in a gorgeous vintage-inspired bottle, D&G's newest release for Spring 14' contains floral and citrus notes. Upon spraying it you are instantly met by that signature floral scent and shortly after you get a burst of fruitiness wandering around your nostrils, without it being too overly sweet. This one is perfect for those of you that love a good floral scented perfume and that 'sophisticated' smell, much similar to Light Blue, another D&G classic. If you get a chance to try this perfume - you won't be dissapointed.
DKNY adds another new-comer to their famous 'Be Delicious' fragrances. City Blossum Urban Violet is one of the 3 fragrances released by DKNY under their 'City Blossum' collection, which they say is inspired by New York City in the Springtime. This delicious evening scent can be described as an 'Urban Dream' perfect for Spring nights out. Containing notes of mandarin, red apple blossom, musk and sandalwood it is a really nice fragrance for those of you that love a fruity, sensual perfume. Don't be fooled by it's description though, Urban Violet is definitely not too over-powering and can also be worn during the day. It can be bought online here or in your local beauty store.
What one will you be trying for Spring? And what are your current favourite perfumes to wear?
Definitely be going to give Bonbon a sniff! Also the DKNY one as I love the ones in the other colours!
