Get that glow: No.7 Skin Illuminator Review

Hello to all my lovely readers on this glorious sunny Sunday. Today I am going to review the Boots No. 7 Skin Illuminator here on my blog. I was inspired to write this post from my new found love for glowing, dewy skin which everyone is raving about this Summer. I recently picked up this product from Boots after hearing how Sue from sosueme.ie uses it under her foundation to achieve her dewy looking skin. There are two shades available in this Illuminator, Peach and Pink. The shade I have picked up is in Peach which is perfect for my skintone at the moment. The Peach shade is perfect for those of you with warm undertones in your skin, while those of you with cool undertones should go for the Pink shade (much like how the Mac foundations work: NC/NW).

The product itself is described as a radiance boosting beauty fluid which can be applied alone under your foundation for an all-over dewy look or applied on it's own to the cheekbones as a liquid highlighter. The consistency of the illuminator is quite thick, so only a small amount of product is needed but it does blend into the skin very evenly and drys almost straight away. Once you remove the cap off this product there is a brush applicator at the end. To apply the product you need to twist the applicator cap to ON and squeeze a small bit of product out - very easy to apply and not as messy as a brush tip applicator may seem. When I'm just using this on my cheekbones as a highlight, I tend to just use my finger to take any excess product off the brush tip and just dab it onto my skin. If you want to use the illuminator as a base under your foundation then you could either squeeze a small amount of product onto the back of your hand and apply using your own brush or just go ahead and use the brush applicator directly on your face.

I really love how this sets on the skin. The shimmer is subtle enough to not make you look like a character from Twilight; yet noticeable enough to give you a healthy-looking, dewy complexion. It doesn't cling to any dry patches on my face and hasn't broken me out as of yet. I also find that I can apply this product under my foundation and still set my make-up using a powder like normal without it affecting the dewy-ness of the look. The product works equally as well as a liquid highlighter and I now find it has replaced my beloved powder shimmer brick as my new go-to highlighter! A big round of applause to the folks over at No.7 for making this little gem. You can purchase this 30ml tube from any Boots store or online for €14,25.

Thanks so much for reading this review lovelies and comment down below if you have any questions.
